Here's why creating content is hard
Do you struggle with creating content for your business?
A lot of the time I see business owners really struggle with writing copy and creating content for their own business and it ends up in the too hard basket.
Why?
Because creating content can be overwhelming and frustrating. It's time consuming. You have to come up with content that will reach, connect, and engage your customers and ideal clients (aka target market) and build the KLT factor (Know, Like, Trust).
Did you also hear the KLF song, Justified and Ancient featuring Tammy Wynnette, in your when you read KLT??? It popped straight into my head (showing my age, aren't I?).
Anyway, back to the topic at hand….
The best person
Ideally, as a business owner, you would think that you're the best person to craft your content because…
- you are the one who knows your customers and clients and who your target market is
- you’ve been running your business for years and know all the benefits your product or service offers
- you know your stuff - in fact you're AWESOME at what you do
So why is creating content for your own business so hard?
Knowing what your customers want
Well, when it comes down to it, your customers and clients don’t need (or want) all the information you know.
They simply need and want the information that's important to them. Plus, they want it in a format that appeals to them, that they are happy to see, read, engage with.
And that can vary greatly – dependent on who your ideal client is.
Pulling stuff out of your head
Getting all your knowledge out of your head into a strategic content plan, and then creating content is hard. Especially when you have other things to focus on for your business.
This is where I come in.
